WHAT IS COOLPEEL®? HOW DOES TREATMENT WORK?

CoolPeel® is a CO2 laser skin resurfacing treatment, in the form of a smart device, designed to deliver SmartXide Tetra carbon dioxide (CO2) lasers without the residual heat that damages the surrounding skin. These combined capabilities tighten connective tissue and stimulate collagen production, addressing two of the main causes behind visual signs of aging by lightening and tightening the skin's appearance. CoolPeel® is also the only CO2 ablative laser treatment device without the downtime required with other CO2 devices. CoolPeel® remodels the face by targeting wrinkles, age spots, acne scars, and other blemishes. CoolPeel® restores youth to the skin by addressing issues like fine lines and discolorations.*

Once the recommended number of treatments are performed, results from CoolPeel® are long-lasting! Optimal effects can be noticed in as little as one week. Patients can maintain their results by protecting their skin from the sun; however, patients often choose to receive yearly maintenance treatments to keep their face looking smooth, tight and fresh for longer.

The retail cost of CoolPeel® varies based on your individual goals and factors, such as the number of treatments received. The cost for a treatment session is typically around $800; depending on the area being treated.

WHO IS AN IDEAL CANDIDATE?

CoolPeel® is designed for treatment on all skin types/ tones, and although the results are powerful, the system is gentle! Adults of all ages and those with sensitive skin can be treated. Your specialist will discuss any additional concerns with you before your treatment.

HOW LONG UNTIL I SEE RESULTS?

WHAT DOES COOLPEEL® TREATMENT FEEL LIKE?

CoolPeel® is virtually painless! Numbing cream is used to ensure that the treatment is comfortable.

ARE THERE ANY SIDE EFFECTS OR RISKS?

Typically, there are few to no side effects from CoolPeel®. Common side effects may include mild discomfort or redness post-treatment. These side effects are transient and should completely resolve with time.

There is a rare chance of hypopigmentation in individuals with olive and darker skin tones. This risk is the same for any type of laser treatment. AFSC will take measures to prevent any issues by pretreating the skin to prepare for treatment

IS THERE ANY DOWNTIME OR RECOVERY AFTER TREATMENT?

There is no required downtime after a CoolPeel® session! Patients can return to daily activities immediately, and your skin will be ready for makeup after 24 hours. Your provider will give you personalized recommendations on safe skin care during the healing process, which should last 3-5 days. During this time, we recommend the use of sun screen, and excess sun exposure should be avoided.

HOW MANY TREATMENTS WILL I NEED?

A typical candidate for CoolPeel® will likely need 3 treatments to a given area. We offer free consultations to better assess how to tailor treatment to your unique skin.

HOW LONG DOES A CONSULTATION TAKE?

Your complimentary consultation will take about 30-60 minutes and we will be able to give you a specific treatment plan. Once you are determined to be a good candidate for CoolPeel®, we can schedule you immediately!

WHAT IS TREATMENT LIKE, START TO FINISH?

When you come in for a CoolPeel® session, your certified laser technician will greet you and lead you to your treatment room, where we will ensure your privacy and comfort. After you have been numbed, your specialist will supply protective eyewear to keep your eyes safe during treatment.

The certified laser technician will analyze your dermis and determine the precise power, density, and pulse durations needed to tailor and optimize treatment. The treatment is painless, but our technician will check in with you about your comfort during treatment, which will only take about 15 minutes, depending on treatment area. When finished, your specialist will provide you with your personalized post-treatment instructions for care, answer any additional questions for you, and you'll be able to get right back to your day!
